Players can pre-order the PC edition of System Shock via Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store and get a free copy of the upcoming System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition. The System Shock remake features modernized controls and an improved user interface for a more intuitive gaming experience and a soundtrack with updated versions of the original game's music. Furthermore, it expands on the story and world-building of the original game, with new characters and locations. The remake features updated graphics with modern lighting and visual effects, as well as 3D models and textures. The mission in the System Shock remake will be to save Earth from certain doom using “your stealth, cunning, and futuristic weaponry to navigate the Citadel Station”.
The game has undergone significant development, with new gameplay features, updated graphics, and a reimagined storyline.
